APRIL 2015 ROUND UP

PRIYA AND COLIN AND GANG 18/19 APRIL 2015

Actually this a follow-up from Kiki's birthday in early April. The whole gang plus some new faces thought that it was just too short the last time so they came again for a totally relaxed and stress free weekend. All 40 of them plus several dogs as well. Our dogs looked them over a decided that these city slickers were so ignorant that even a squirrel would drive them bananas. So Duke, Siti, Socks and Fifi (our dogs) practically ignored them.

AT TAMIMI INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC SCHOOL DAY OUT - 22 APRIL 2015

115 students, ages from 7 to 15 years and 16 teachers came to Uluhati for a fun filled day of telematches, horse and pony rides and of course, a frolic in the pool. Students came from places as far away as Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Maldives, India and Madagascar. Weather was great, so prayers (jamak Zuhur and Asar) was on the open ground beneath the shady trees, a moving sight, praising and giving thanks to the Almighty in the midst of His beautiful creation.

NUR CALIPH FARM DAY 30 APRIL 2015

47 pre-schoolers and 6 teachers came to learn about the farm and the things that go in it. They were given a  tour of the farm, its various vegetation and animals. Quite cute actually especially the first 20 minutes, but as the questions came in swells somehow the cuteness seemed faded somewhat. One can be surprised at what they know and what they do not know. I mean, they called a guinea fowl a duck and the deer a cow. But never mind. It goes to show that these children and other children as well need to get out of the shopping malls more often and get in touch with the real world. It scares you to think how disconnected they may grow up to be. All is well when things are well, but the moment the balance is disturbed the life that we know will cease to exist. What then? Relearn the world at 35.

Its been a hectic April but great fun. I even managed to turn 58 in the midst of all that. God bless everyone and Salam.
