Once again Uluhati played host to Ekonights who held their camp at Uluhati for 3 days 2 nights from 14 November to 16 November 2014. This time their activity was co-sponsored by Tenaga Nasional Berhad. 40 guests turned up made up of students, facilitators and speakers of various environmental disciplines.
Ekonights short form for Knights of Nature is an NGO dedicated to raising environmental awareness amongst Malaysian teenagers. Selected participants had to compete rigorously against their peers as we understand that 200 teenagers applied, out of which only 18 were selected.
Amongst the topics discussed were Sustainable Living, Change Agent for Impossible Ideals, Connecting the Green Dots, Problems Facing Community Based Conservation, Solar Energy, Upcycling - Turning Trash to Cash and Epic Homes.
Uluhati were charged with the outdoor segment which include outdoor cooking with bamboo, jungle trekking with survival tips (tracking, making traps, finding alternative water sources), fishing and of course our one of a kind Uluhati volley ball.
